phpBB 3.0 "Olympus" Beta3
Welcome to our third public beta of the next-generation of phpBB after 2.0.x, phpBB 3.0! This beta release is intended for advanced users to try out on dedicated development enviroments to help us finish creating the best Opensource Bulletin Board solution available.
Note: This release is not final and made available for testing purposes only. If that sounds too scary, then phpBB's current stable releases would fit the bill far better.
Quick Start Guide
To give you some guidance while trying out the beta, we are making an early version of our Quick Start Guide available. It will follow you through the installation, the creation of your first forum and setting permission.

Support
A dedicated forum for phpBB 3.0 Beta support has been set-up. It is only for general set-up questions, configuration problems and determining common problems mostly related to bugs. It is not for support of modifications, custom code/style additions or any users using phpBB 3.0 Beta in a live enviroment.

Frequently Asked Questions
When's phpBB 3.0 Final going to be released?
Let's get the beta-testing phase out the way first. The more productive the beta-testing phase is, the sooner phpBB 3.0 will be mature enough to be used in a production enviroment. Once at release candidate stage... phpBB 3.0 won't be too far off from final.
Can I use this beta as my live forum?
No. We do not recommend using beta software in a production environment.
Where do I submit feature requests?
The road to phpBB Olympus has been a long road. The feature list is already complete and all development time is now dedicated to bug squashing/security fixes. The feature requests list shall re-open in due time for the phpBB 3.x series.
Where do I submit bugs I find in this Beta?
Please use our Bug Tracker to submit any bugs you find. Also try to make sure that your bug hasn't been submitted already.
Do I report security issues also to the Bug Tracker?
No, if you find a security issue, please report it to our Security Tracker.
Is there an upgrade tool available?
No. Upgrade tools will be definately provided with the first release candidate, though most likely not be provided with a future beta depending on the progress of the pre-release programme.
What has changed since 2.0.x, can I see a feature list?
A non-exhaustive feature list is available at our development board. Please note that not all new features are lsited there, it is a selection of the most important ones.
What do I need to run phpBB 3.0 Beta for testing purposes?

* A SQL database system, one of:
o MySQL 3.23 or above (MySQLi supported)
